Smith stalling on striker search

Dean Smith had admitted that he is trying but struggling to get new strikers on loan.

Depsite early promise and an injury to Jon Macken, the Saddlers have scored just 17 goals in the 18 games of the season. That compares to league leaders Charlton Athletic’s tally of 32 so far. That’s almost double!

Smith has pinpointed the financial delicacy of the Saddlers as a problem as he seeks an end their current League One woes.

He told the Express and Star: ‘I can go out and get loan signings but they`ve got to be better than what we`ve got…there`s not major money to go and play with, but there`s money there and we`ll see what we have to do.”

It’s not just a striker issue that Saddler’s are hurtling towards a relegation battle, but the midfield especially also need tightening up as well.

Well, we just want to see a good, solid signing that will just make a positive impact on the team and get the Banks’s smiling again!

We wish Dean luck!

Up The Saddlers!
