Walsall boss Dean Smith has today said the club will consider making a permanent move for on loan midfielder Michael Cain, should he become a free agent in the summer.
Cain’s contract is due to expire with the Premiership side this summer and despite recent events, Walsall would be favourites to sign him.
Smith said “If he becomes a free agent, then we will consider things.’
‘At the moment, that`s not the case and, as he is under 24, there might well be a fee involved.”
Cain has made twenty six appearances this season scoring three goals.
Cain was forced to apologise to his team mates following an outburst on social media for not playing at Wembley on Sunday.
