Smith ‘We Are Determined To Take The Chance’

Walsall boss Dean Smith has today insisted that Preston will provide a difficult hurdle in our quest for Wembley but is sure his side will give all they can in search of that historic first visit.

Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk; Smith said ‘It’s A tough task against a good Preston North End team who have been able to recruit well recently with the type of player that they have been able to bring in showing the power and size of the club at this level.’

‘That said, we have already played them once this season and beaten them. The opportunity is there for us, but we know that with it being over two legs, the tie won’t be won or lost on Wednesday evening’

Smith continued ‘This is one of only two realistic ways that clubs at this level can reach Wembley and we are determined to take the chance. We had some tough games to get to this stage of the competition, but the run has certainly got people buzzing and talking.’

‘I am sure that we will take a decent following to Deepdale and I ask our travelling contingent to really get behind the players and make your voices heard.’
