Walsall boss Dean Smith has said his team need to start winning games however he refuses to look over his shoulder at the relegation scrap and insists they will take it one game at a time.

Smith said ‘There are 15 or 16 teams looking up and looking down. That is the sort of league it has been this season, a real crazy league. We have to get back to winning ways.

“Our performances before the cup final against Milton Keynes Dons and Sheffield United were much better and back to where we were and if we perform like that, we will win games.”

“We are just looking at the next game.’

‘That is all you can do and then you address it after the game. We will continue to do that.”

Walsall head to Chesterfield only winning one of their last eight which leaves them just four points off the drop zone.
