Spineless, Gutless, Pathetic Performance From Players

I have supported and backed these players week in, week out but after yesterday’s yellow bellied, spineless, gutless and quite pathetic performance I cannot hold back anymore.

Jon Whitney prides himself and his team on passion with high energy levels but that performance didn’t show anything. These players are meant to put on the famous red shirt and give their all for the club and the town, the last two games have been the totally opposite and those performances do get managers the sack.

Yes Jon Whitney is the current problem but those players need to have a good long look at themselves.

Onto the game….

Whitney made one change from the side which lost 3-0 against Rochdale earlier this week, out went Maz Kouhyar and in came Amadou Bakayoko with Julian Ngoy moving onto the wing.

Shrewsbury were a constant threat and poor final balls prevented them from scoring more than two. The Saddlers hit the bar and post through Devlin and Morris but the chances were very few and far between for the Saddlers in front of the 970 travelling fans.

Adam Chambers moved into the defence with twenty minutes to go, more proof that the man currently in charge does. It know what he is doing, this change didn’t work well at Blackburn and didn’t work well yesterday.

There were fights amongst our own fans yesterday and a ‘Whitney Out’ banner was seen amongst the travelling army at full time – the whole situation stinks. We have somehow gone from a club of togetherness and on a crest of a wave under Dean Smith to this and it’s going to take a lot of time and one hell of a rebuilding job for the next manager.

These are dark times at Walsall FC but we will come back.

Shrewsbury a club that have always been in our shadow are showing that you can do something in League 1 if you have a plan, a direction and a decent manager. We have got to follow suit, never thought I’d ever be in a position where I would have a hint of jealousy of Shrewsbury Town.

Shows how bad the current situation is…
