Saddlers Sink Pilgrims
The Saddlers won our opening League 1 game 2-1 against Plymouth in front of a crowd of 5,755.
Goals from Andy Cook and a superb free kick from Luke Leahy were enough as the Saddlers came back from a goal down.
Five talking points
- New boys impress. Andy Cook, Morgan Ferrier and Josh Ginnelly impressed on their Saddlers debut.
- Liam Kinsella – should the Irishman be given chance to impress? following his impressive display when he replaced club stalwart Adam Chambers.
- Defence – despite conceding the first goal the defence which conceded so many last season looked more composed and organised.
- Luke Leahy – quite often targeted by some supporters but his defensive display got better as the game went on and his superb 25 yard free kick was worth the admission fee alone.
- Amadou Bakayoko – the striker was missing from the matchday squad ahead of a rumoured move to Bristol Rovers or Coventry City. Will he come back to haunt the club?
