The Saddlers travel to Gander Green Lane to face Sutton United, looking to make it 7 points out of 9.

Form

Sutton United – LLDLL

Walsall – WLLWD

Previous Meetings

Walsall 1-1 Sutton United

The last meeting between the two sides was back in April this year where Isaac Hutchinson scored at 95 minute equaliser to rescue us a point. It was a game in which we was very looking to get a point out of the game after a terrible showing.

There has only been 4 meetings between the two sides in the EFL with Walsall yet to lose against the U’s (2W, 2D).

The most memorable meeting was back in October 2021, where Tyrese Shade’s free kick in the second half secured us a 0-1 away win.

One to Watch

The danger man for Sutton United is Omari Patrick. He has got off to a decent start to his career at Sutton netting 4 goals in 11 games for the U’s. Before signing for Sutton in the summer, he had a spell at Carlisle where he scored the winning goal in the play-off final. The 27-year-old possesses a lot of pace and skill and is one we need to try and keep quiet.

Selection

Walsall are likely to set up in the same shape they have in the last couple game of a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The Saddlers will still be without Priestley Farquharson with Plantar Fasciitis.

David Okagbue is still out with injury as well and Taylor Allen will serve the last game of his suspension.

Sutton United will probably play a 4-4-2 formation which Matt Gray side are known for playing.

Score prediction

Sutton United 0-2 Walsall

It’s a must win game for the Saddlers if we want to challenge at the right end of the table this season. Sutton are without a win in 10 games in League Two, conceding 24 goals in this winless run.

The Saddlers will be looking to make it 3 games unbeaten on Saturday and back to back away win. It’s a game we have to attack from the start and try and make it a convincing away win. We’ve got to take the positives from the last two games and build on it and get another positive result.

Come on you Saddlers!
