The Futures Bright – Youngsters Show First Team How It’s Done

|

Whilst the first team are failing in their first season in League 2 it’s refreshing to see our youth team flying in the North-West Youth Alliance League this season.

Last season our youth side won a measly six games however this season we have already won four – leaving Miguel Llera’s side just three points behind the leaders with a game in hand.

Saturdays 4-0 victory over Morecambe was their third successive romp, defeating Chesterfield 4-0 the week before and beating Accrington 3-0 the week before that.

So far this season they have played six, won four, scored seventeen goals and conceded just five.

Lets not water down how good Miguel has been since arriving at the club. He inherited a youth set up that had been neglected for a few years and has already installed professionalism, a winning mentality and a style of football which has left a few supporters feeling very optimistic.

Walsall Under 18 captain Joe Willis is already catching the eye along with Perry Moss and Saif Mukadam.

Congratulations to Miguel and his team – here’s hoping they can continue their fine start, push on to win the league title and hopefully see some of them step up to the first team very soon!
