Walsall will take on Greenock Morton tonight and there will be three trialists looking to impress Dean Smith.
Goalkeeper David Grof, right back Lee Beevers and midfielder Anton Peterlin are all in Scotland and hunting for that elusive deal.
Former Wales U21 Lee Beevers, 27, started his career at Ipswich Town alongside Matt Richards before moving to Boston United in 2003. He signed to Lincoln City in 2005 were he was highly successful, earning player of the season in 2007. After that he was unfortunately plagued by injury.
He joined Colchester United in 2009, made 23 appearances in 2 years but was released in May this year.
Hungarian goalkeeper David Grof has had mixed fortunes in his professional career. He began at Hibernian, ironically making his debut against Greenock Morton in 2008. A drink driving offence ended his time at the club 18 months early after just one season. After a season training with Gillingham, he joined Notts County last year. He failed to make a single appearance for the Magpies and went on a successful loan to Blue Square Premier side Mansfield Town. He played a pivotal role in their FA Trophy campaign, reaching the final. Notts County let him go at the end of last season.
American Anton Peterlin joined Premier League side Everton in 2009 but failed to make an appearance. He moved to Plymouth a year later were he made 12 appearances for the Pilgrims
Beevers is the most promising with the most amount of games under his belt at a decent level. Peterlin probably has not been given many chances in England so time will tell. Grof is a question mark with no experience in the English football league.
