Richard Money, has been picked by the board from a short list. As I told you previously the final interviews were held over the weekend. Richard traveled 36 to make the appointment.

This suprise appointment doesn’t tick all the boxes that Bonser said he wanted but his coaching experiance including Uefa pro coaching licenses means he has a wealth of experience. He has been given a two year contract.

A former European Championship medal winner with Liverpool, Richard Money has played over 450 English league & cup apperances and has represented both the England B and U/21 teams. His last club Newcastle Jets reached the play offs. He has over 20 years experience as head coach and manager of clubs in both England and Sweden including Manchester City and AIK Stockholm whom he guided to a Uefa cup spot.

DOB: 13-10-1955

International Appearances: England U/21 and England B
Playing Career: Scunthorpe United (1973-1977), Fulham (1977-1979), Liverpool (1979-1981), Luton Town (1981-1983), Portsmouth (1983-1985), Scunthorpe United (1985 – 1989)
Coaching: Scunthorpe Head Coach (1985-1989), Aston Villa Coach (1989-1993), Scunthorpe Manager (1993-1994), Nottingham Forest Coach (1994-1997), Manchester City Head Coach (1997-1998), Coventry City Academy Manager (1998-2001), Coventry City Head Coach (2001-2002), AIK Stockholm (2003-2004), Vasteras (2004)

In his only spell as manager in England he won 23 lost 23 and drew 24 of the 70 games in charge.

My only question is will he adapt quick enough to life in division 2.

Chants of wheres the money gone can now be answered, he’s in the dugout.
