Tomorrow Nights Referee Is A Bad Omen For The Saddlers


Tomorrow evening the Saddlers travel to Prenton Park for our Carabao Cup First Round tie with Tranmere Rovers

The match officials for tomorrows game have been announced and its a bad omen for the Saddlers with the news that Michael Salisbury is in the middle.

Match officials are as follows

Referee – MICHAEL SALISBURY
Linesmen – Mark Griffiths and David Benton
Fourth Official : Wade Smith

Salisbury has officiated four games involving the Saddlers with the reds yet to taste victory –  losing three and drawing one.

He officiated one game involving the Saddlers last season – he officiated our 2-1 EFL Trophy defeat to Bury.

Salisbury awarded a penalty in our 4-1 home defeat to Scunthorpe in 2016. Salisbury has dished out eight yellow cards involving the Saddlers with the reds only receiving two of them – both yellow cards were given to Andreas Makris.

Last season Salisbury officiated thirty-one games, dishing out one hundred and seven yellow cards, nine reds and awarding nine penalties.
