Troy Denney has signed proffessional forms with the Saddlers following some useful performances in the reserves. He also has had a very successful period on loan under ex saddler midfielder and now boss of Halesowen Martin O’Connor. Troy the ex Chelmsley Town man scored eight goals in ten games for Halesowen Town. Martin was keen to keep him for the rest of the season.

The praise for the young centre forward doesn’t stop there. Manager Richard Money also praises the striker describing the 18 year old as an old fashioned centre forward who puts himself about. He has proven that he is a real handful for defences and knows how to score goals.

However having cut his teeth so to speak in the non league game Troy is also something of a rough diamond, and the staff at Walsall are aware that they have to work on these rough edges. It is due to this that DD has stated that he doesn’t see Troy pushing for the first team this season, but also added an interesting ‘but who knows’

Once again this highlights that we have a good crop of youngsters comming through the ranks at Walsall. If Alex Nicholls, Mark Bradley, Netan Sansara, Ishmel Demontagnac, Mannie Smith and of course Troy all follow in Scott Danns footsteps in making an impact on the first team the futurs could be bright.
