Walsall have been very busy today offloading Devante Rodney to Rochdale and bringing in veteran striker Andy Williams and young full back Liam Bennett from Cheltenham and Cambridge respectively.

Veteran Andy Williams (not the singer) joins the Saddlers at the ripe old age of 35, 36 in August. Having played over 650 games during his career scoring over 150 goals. He has played for Swindon Town, Doncaster Rovers and Cheltenham Town most recently.

Full back Liam Bennett arrives on a season long loan from League 1 side Cambridge United. Bennett featured for the U’s ten times last season. He has recently spent time on loan at Hemel Hempstead and St Neots.

Departing the Saddlers will be Devante Rodney to Rochdale. Rodney was brought into the club in January however injuries stopped the front man from ever making an impact at the Saddlers.

Williams and Bennett become the fifth and sixth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Liam Gordon, Peter Clarke, Oisin McEntee and Joe Riley.
