Vital View – Sinclair Signing

So there we have it. Our first summer signing and May isn’t out yet – proof that Clarke already knows what type of player is needed and further proof that the board have identified their mistakes from last season and are giving Clarke everything he needs to perform the major rebuild.

Sinclair was always the obvious signing for Clarke given he worked with him at Salisbury and Bristol Rovers but lets not hide behind the fact that Sinclair is everything we missed last season.

Bristol Rovers fans have already swamped our Twitter feed to tell us the kind of player we can expect from Sinclair and dare I say it he sounds like a much younger Adam Chambers.

Sinclair is described as a “fans favourite” “work horse” “fittest player you will have” “a man who throws his body on the line” and “a man who will be influential on and off the field” – he ticks every box.

Last season Dobson, Kinsella, Osbourne and Edwards were all given the hopeless task of providing the defence with support – Dobson is more an attacking outlet, Kinsella still lacks the experience and Osbourne/Edwards their best days were behind them – there was little experience and know how in our midfield last season and will have been one of the reasons we conceded so many goals and Dobson didn’t shine.

At thirty-one we still have two or three seasons with Sinclair (despite the club not revealing his contract length)

Last season Keates was seen chasing players right until the last minute and was forced to sign youngsters on loan that didn’t cut the mustard, Sinclair is a welcomed addition and if he is as good as Rovers fans say he is then we will have a fans favourite that wont give up until he has achieved success.
