Walsall legend James Walker has today said the players will have regrets over their Wembley showing and insisted the side he watched wasn’t the side he knows following their poor play in the final third.
Speaking to Walsall Advertiser, Wacka said ‘They will feel they didn’t give a true account of themselves out there and there is nothing worse and looking back on a game like that, like that.’
‘I was sick to death of saying it during the commentary for the game I was doing. I must have said it at least 20 times, the final ball just let them down.
‘That wasn’t Walsall for me. I have played against them a few times since I left and they are usually so sharp on the edge of the box, so dangerous – it just was not to be, though’
Wacka made 475 appearances for the Saddlers between 1993-2004 and a further 58 appearances in 2012 taking his tally to 533 appearances in total making him the clubs record appearance holder.
