Jimmy Walker has joined Spurs after being released from West Ham.

He will face competition from first choice keeper Heurelho Gomes and second choice Carlo Cudicini for the first team jersey.

Gomes, however, is currently out injured, so he will at least make the subs bench on this weekend.

Wacka’ made 430 appearances for the club during 1993-2004 before signing for West Ham in 2004, with a loan spell at Colchester last season.

  • I hear he is a great character and joker in the dressing room, which could be an added bonus, as for actually playing, I think he is here merely to act as experienced cover to allow us to continue loaning our young keepers out this season, which makes total sense to me.

  • Wacka was a loyal and excellent servant to the club. For Spurs, he will provide good backup and is very reliable. Not bad for someone who needs a stepladder just to reach the crossbar!
