Walsall Boss Admits He And His Team Are Failing

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke made a shock admission following Saturday’s defeat to Bradford admitting that he is currently failing miserably as manager of Walsall FC.

It is still early days but the Saddlers are currently sitting 21st in League 2 with the second worst goal scoring record in England – scoring just three goals in eight league games.

Whilst its refreshing to hear the manager admit that we are under performing it does little to encourage fans.

Speaking to Express and Star, Clarke said

“At the minute we’re failing miserably, I’m failing miserably, I lead the troops and we have to do a lot, lot, lot better than we have been,”

“I know it’s boring and fans will be sick of hearing it but you have to keep working with it and working with the players and changing the mindset of the players in that final third, you keep doing that and eventually it’ll turn.”

The Saddlers head to Morecambe tomorrow knowing goals and points is a must. Morecambe have lost five of their last six games conceding twenty goals in the process – should we fail to score or get anything tomorrow, more questions will be asked of this squad and the manager.

It seems many are still confident that Clarke will turn it around but football is a very impatient sport and you cannot see people remaining patient for much longer.

Its mad to think that even in September we are calling the next six games (Morecambe, Scunthorpe, Crawley, Orient and Salford) crucial to our season.
