Walsall Boss Feels He May Have Missed Out On Targets

|

Walsall boss Dean Keates revealed last night that he isn’t confident that some of his targets will now sign for the Saddlers.

Deano was hoping that a couple of signings would be completed within the next forty-eighty hours but this doesn’t seem to be the case.

Keates is still looking to bolster his squad with the Football League season just sixteen days away but following last nights victory over Ajax Keates admitted that discussions have gone cold with some of his targets.

Speaking to Express And Star , Keates said

“We have got offers that we’re waiting on but I’m starting to get the feeling one or two might not happen.”

Keates gave debuts to three trialists last night and all of them impressed along with previous trialists Tom Brewitt and the unknown Cypriot and Keateas was impressed with how they performed.

“The trialists did well but we won’t be making any knee-jerk decisions. We will look back at the video, have a closer look and then maybe we’ll hold talks with their agents.”

The Saddlers have just one more pre-season game before the new season  as we head to Cheltenham a week tomorrow.
