Walsall Boss Has Room For Manoeuvre To Bring In More Players Ahead Of Window Closing

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke has today admitted that he has scope within his budget to bring in a few players in the next few weeks if he needs to.

The transfer window shuts on September 2nd and Clarke has confirmed he will be using the next three games to assess his squad before the window shuts.

The Saddlers boss has already brought in fifteen players this summer but did confirm that another striker is the top of his priorities heading into the final few weeks of the transfer window.

We head to Crewe on Saturday before facing Newport at home on Tuesday and next weekend sees us travel to face League 2’s most fancied side Plymouth.

Speaking to the Official Site, Clarke said

“I’ll be assessing the next three games.”

“I know I need another centre forward but I’ll also be assessing if I need one or two others.”

“I’ve got room for manoeuvre as the squad has been built on a reasonable budget so I’ve got a bit to play with which is good news if and when we need reinforcements, maybe a couple in this window and January as well.”

“It’s not going to be a quick fix, there’s going to be bumps in the road but as long as we keep learning from them bumps and get that mentality into the football club and I think we’re slowly getting there then I think we’ll kick on.”

If you haven’t got your ticket yet for Saturday you can join the party by purchasing either online or via the telephone (01922 651416)
