Walsall Boss Pleased With Victory Over Morecambe And Praises Fantastic Fans

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke said he was pleased with the battling qualities by his side during last nights 1-0 victory over Morecambe, however he wants his players to get to work as we look to make it two wins out of two against Scunthorpe on Saturday.

An early strike by Walsall midfielder Stuart Sinclair was enough for the Saddlers to take all three points but Clarke feels his side have played better this season and lost.

Speaking to the Official Site, Clarke said

It was a good battling performance,”

“We came here with a bit of pressure on the boys to respond after losing against Bradford.

“I thought we thoroughly deserved the points on the night but we don’t get carried away, we take the three points and we move on.”

Clarke also took time out to praise the 232 Saddlers fans who made the long trip to Morecambe last night stating the win was for them

“They’ve been absolutely fantastic. We haven’t given them much to smile about as of yet,”

“We owe the fans. We’ve had a bad start and have a disappointing points return in the first nine games.”

The Saddlers now face Scunthorpe United on Saturday hoping to follow up last nights victory.
