Walsall Boss Slams Weak Minded Players And Vows To Get Rid

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke didn’t mince his words last night as his side slumped to a fourth consecutive defeat at Oldham.

Mat Sadler’s stupid red card was the turning point in the game with the Saddlers on top until then. Whilst trying to rectify Sadler’s red card, Oldham went 1-0 up and then when chasing the game we let in another.

The boss wasn’t slow in coming forward as he has already made his mind up about quite a few players stating they will be put on the transfer list and got rid of but he is adamant that he will bring success to Walsall Football Club.

Clarke told the Express and Star

“There’s some weak minded players at the minute that need to get themselves into gear. Mentally weak, weak minded”

“Some of my signings haven’t done well. I’ll accept that.”

“They’ve got 10/11 games to show me what they can do or I’ll be moving them on. I’ll be putting them on the list and some other manager can deal with them. Im not having it”

“I won’t stop until we are successful”

Whilst it’s refreshing to hear our manager being honest and open you do have to think of how this will affect the players between now and January. There are still a lot of points to play for between now and then, and throwing the players under the bus is probably not the best way to go about it.

After all he did sign these players….

The Saddlers welcome Darrell Clarke’s hometown club Mansfield Town on Saturday which sees the return of former Saddlers Mal Benning, Matt Preston and Andy Cook.
