Well first a guide to those of you staying at home get the beer in, send the kids to bed and kick out the better half to bingo and settle down to watching it on sky. Be warned though you might need to turn the volume down if they have Merse doing the pundit role!!!

For the loyal band of Saddlers who will be at Moss Road here are some things you need to know
How to get there
Thanks to the Internet Football ground guide here are some directions.
Leave the M6 at Junction 17 and turn onto the A534 towards Congleton. On reaching Congleton town centre follow the signs for A54 Buxton. Stay on the A54 for around 5 miles and then turn left on to the A523 towards Macclesfield. You will see the ground on your left after entering the outskirts of Macclesfield. Mostly street parking around and behind the ground and on the A523 itself.

Where to drink
There used to be a pub falling over distance from the ground, in fact from the rear of the pub in its non league days you could see into the ground. Now thats gone the Golden Lion is the nearest to the away end about 10 minutes walk. Nothing special about the lion I am affraid.

A better bet is The Railway View pub on Byrons Lane. This smallish pub has around six ales on offer including a number of guest beers. Once again it is about ten minutes walk. to find the place justfollow the A523 from the ground towards Macclesfield town centre. You will pass ‘The Albion'(I couldn’t drink the pub called that although I might use the toilet) and then at the next set of traffic lights turn right into Byrons Lane. Just go over the railway bridge and the pub is on the right. One other feacture is that it does homemade pies on weekends and I would hope they will be available Monday night as there is no local chippy.

Food is rather hard to come by in the local area last time I went and whilst there is the usual burgers and pies in the ground they were a bit expensive for the surroundings ie Balti pie £2.10, even ‘Accringtons food van is better than’ this.

Perhaps the local or armchair is a good option after all……No No the lads need us as Ince(Paul not Clayton) will have them fired up for this one.
