Walsall fans have been asked not to enter the field of play after Saturdays final home league game against Northampton Town.

Club director Daniel Mole has asked with increasing fines from the Football League for fans encroachment and the forthcoming UEFA U17’s tournament that fans don’t enter the field of play after the final whistle.

The Saddlers have been given the right to host the prestigious Under 17 European Championships and 8,000 fans on a pitch already suffering from the heavy winter will not help us get it ready for the tournament which starts at the Banks’s Stadium on Friday 4th May where Portugal face Norway.

England will play at The Banks’s Stadium on Monday 7th May where they face Italy.

Full list of games at Banks’s Stadium

4th May – Portugal v Norway

5th May – Germany v Netherlands

7th May – England v Italy

11th May – Germany v Spain

The Banks’s Stadium will also host one quarter final game.

  • The fans would be stupid. I don’t understand why fans do it. If we achieved survival on Saturday then yes but with two games left we can save the celebrations until Fleetwood hopefully.
