We catch up with Walsall FC Sierra Leone founder Ibrahim Kamara for an update on their most recent match….
Walsall FC Sierra Leone got back to winning ways with an impressive display to beat local rivals Skeilion FC 3-1.
The hosts began the opening periods on low tempo knowing the effect of the last two matches – both were lost by a below par WFCSL side.
That quickly changed when the hosts opened the scoring just on the 15-minutes mark, a clever chipped ball by winger Sorie Turay found
striker Aruna Kamara who had a glanced header that beat the goalkeeper at his near post to put the hosts 1-0 up.
Moments later the home side threatened again, a long ball into the area by Sorie Turay found the head of Aruna Kamara, but the striker’s weak header only found the hands of the goalkeeper. Soon afterwards their moment came, via a corner which the away sides defence failed to deal with and it went in off the upright.
Just as we approached the end of the first period in which the hosts where dominant, apart froma mix up with goalkeeper John Lamboi and his defence that almost carved out the equalizer for Skeilion FC.
The home side doubled their lead in the 43rd minutes. A cross shot by the home sides most dangerous threat. Sorie Turay – caused a huge panic in the Skeilion defence, which led them to square
the ball into their own net to put the Saddlers 2-0 before the break.

Walsall FC Sierra Leone were on top as was the first period,
but both sides made changes to freshen things up.
The home side sent on winger Alex Bockarie for midfielder Mustapha Kamara who was making his third appearance for the WFCSL.
The WFCSL winger quickly settled in the match and his second piece of action was to take a corner kick, and his curling corner-kick went straight at the right hand corner of the back post to put the Shome side 3-0 up going into the final momentz of the match.
The winger has now scored a total of 11 goals for WFCSL this season in all competitions.
