Walsall legend and current Wrexham boss Dean Keates has today distanced himself from the vacant managers position at The Banks’s Stadiun.

Keates who has guided Wrexham to fourth in the Conference so far this season has impressed many clubs with his performances as manager. Wrexham have been struggling since exiting the football league but Keates has them playing some of their best football for some time and believes promotion is a possibility.

However we understand that Keates will not approach Walsall and that he doesn’t expect a call, now Keates is concentrating on Wrexham’s visit to Woking on Saturday.

Keates made over 200 appearances for the Saddlers during two stints and is a local lad having been born on the Beechdale Estate however it seems that with two years to go on his Wrexham contract the Saddlers will need to wait a little longer for the dream return of our progical son.
