Out of luck Hull defender Danny Coles is rumoured to be attracting the interest of League 1 side Walsall, according to vital Hull site.

“The Hull defender, who is currently recovering from a broken nose sustained during a Tigers reserve game a week ago hasn`t featured in the Hull first-team since the opening day disaster he suffered against Plymouth Argyle” they say which doesn’t sound too good from our point of view.

Coles was credited for being responsible for two of the three goals conceded that day, so he would fit right into our back four.

Vital Hull says
‘Although Coles has had two decisively dodgy performances against Ipswich last season and Plymouth this, the defender has also struggled with injury. By never having a consistent run in the first-team, the defender who arrived from Bristol City has been forced into the team when injuries have taken their toll and as a result, Coles has often struggled to immediately adapt from reserve team football to Championship football.’

So whilst a short term loan may help out with the long term absence of Alan Picken, and the uncertainity of Ian Ropers virus, the team are in need of strenghtening in other areas first in my opinion. If we do get in another centre half he needs to be a commanding figure a true leader and someone who will organise the defence, would Danny Coles fit the bill!!! I for one don’t think so.
