Walsall have been linked with a loan-move for Barnsley winger Anthony McParland.

The 23-year-old former Scotland Under-21 international is rumoured to be joining on-loan for the season, but this has neither been denied or confirmed, by either club or player.

McParland started his career at Celtic, before he moved south of the border last February.

In other news, Tommy Wright is also rumoured to be signing a permanent deal with Walsall for a small fee of £55,000.

However, his red card on Boxing Day in the 1-0 win over Shrewsbury will have probably hindered his chances, as DD has refused to appeal against the card, saying that it was a ‘waste of time.’
