Walsall Make National Press For Wrong Reasons

Days after Walsall were awarded for their excellent family experience we found ourselves in the national press for totally the opposite!

Six coaches travelled from Great Cornard Middle School to Walsall Football Club`s Banks` Stadium on Wednesday to cheer on the school`s under-13s team in the English Schools Football Association Small Schools final however parents were told to keep the noise down as it was interfering with our corporate visitors.

Fifteen minutes into the game the tannoy announcer said: “Can the crowd please refrain from making too much noise.”

Stunned fans – some of whom were blowing horns – were told the guests dining in a function room at the stadium had moaned about the racket.

Walsall have often been the focal point of the community and this was justified by our recognition from the Football League however the news that has made it’s way to the national press leaves a sour taste in the mouth and we hope to hear Walsall’s response to this story.
