Walsall recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory over Wigan in the Final Third Development League.

A brace from Luke Delaney and a goal from Matt Preston was enough to see off top of the table, Latics.

Walsall took the lead just after the quarter hour as Delaney fired in at the back post from Levi Rowley`s cross.

Walsall doubled their advantage two minutes later as Delaney’s volley into the area was headed home by Preston after Latics only half cleared the initial set-piece.

Walsall did add a third 20 minutes from time as Delaney`s 20-yard shot bobbled over Keane off the surface.

Poole was later sent off for the Latics after kicking out at Reece Flanagan.
