Walsall are set to attempt to sign ex-Derby left back Paul Boertien and Gambian international winger Eddie Sonko.
Both played in last night’s 3-1 win over Stafford Rangers and DD has hinted at sitting down with the duo to discuss permanent deals.
Boertien was released by Derby at the end of last season and could be a replacement for the departed Kris Taylor.
The 28-year-old started his career at Carlisle United in 1996, making his debut against Walsall, before making a move to the East Midlands in 1999, making over 100 appearances for the Rams.
If he signs for the Saddlers, he will make his Walsall debut against Carlisle, 11 years after he made his debut for Carlisle against Walsall. Bizzare!!
Sonko is also a free agent as well after leaving Greek Super League side Xanthi FC.
He played six times for Anderlecht in 1999 before moving to Roda JC in 2001.
The 27-year-old played over 100 times for the Dutch Premiership club, as well as scoring seven goals in 14 caps for his country.
