Walsall Set To Sign Leicester Starlet

|

HITC are reporting that Walsall are set to sign Leicester City Under 23 striker Josh Gordon on loan.

The 23-year-old joined Leicester from Northern Premier Division side Stafford Rangers in April 2017, after impressing on trial at the King Power Stadium.

Gordon was a regular for Leicester’s Under-23 side last season, scoring six goals in 27 games in Premier League 2, but he has yet to break into Claude Puel’s first-team plans.

Gordon can also play wide left as well as upfront so will add cover on the wing should the Saddlers suffer any injury problems with Kieron Morris, Josh Ginnelly or Zeli Ismail.

Manager Dean Keates said he was hopeful of signing one or two players before today’s window shuts with the Saddlers in need of reinforcements in central midfield.

The Saddlers have injury concerns over Adam Chambers ahead of Saturdays game with Scunthorpe with only George Dobson, Jordan Sangha, Maz Kouhyar and Liam Kinsella available at the moment.

We will keep you up to date with news as it happens throughout the day.
