Walsall have today confirmed the signing of former Manchester United, Bradford City and Carlisle United right back Joe Riley on a free transfer.
He started his career at Manchester United where he made his debut at the same time as Marcus Rashford during their 5-1 win over Midtyjlland. He then joined Sheffield United on loan in League One and then later joined Bradford City on a two year. Following their relegation to League 2, Riley was released and joined Carlisle on a rolling one year contract, which was later extended. He was offered a new deal with the Cumbrians but turned it down in favour of joining the Saddlers.
Riley played ninety six times for the Cumbrians scoring five goals.
