In a day which is as much about remembering Matt Gadsby who played for both teams before his untimely death on the pitch some three weeks ago’s as it is about football, Walsall and Mansfield will be seeking to celebrate three points. Walsall want to extend there stay at the top of the league whilst Mansfield will want to improve on some rather average away form this season.

Vital Quotes:

Dickie, has said we have done the easy part by getting to the top of the league, the hard part is staying the .re. When we only drew at Shrewsbury very few thought we would still go into saturdays game as league leaders.
Dickie is hopeful that the determination and character shown on tuesday can do the trick. Whilst Dickie has also be heaping praise on Tony Bedeau following his first saddlers goal in his first start

Walsall Team News:

The Saddlers hope to have Ian Roper back in the sixteen, so have plenty of defensive options. Many fans are calling for Kinsella to return in midfield whist the Demon is also keen to get a chance.
Up front, Butler will be partnered by either Sam or Bedeau.

Player to watch: Chris Westwood

Having been subject to the Bescot boo boys Chris has started to win them over with some good displays. However he needs to bring that form back to bescot. He will most likely be playing at right back and with Mansfields like of wingers he could well be tested to the limit, if we are to keep a clean sheet he will need to pass that test.

Mansfield Team News:

In a team which has a mixture of experience and youth, no details of injuries have been forthcoming yet, will update as thinks change.

Player to watch: Matt Hamshaw

Signed in the summer from Stockport, Matt is a skillful winger with an eye for a goal. It was rumoured that Matt was a bit of a disruptive player in the County dressing room, this seems not to be the case at Mansfield. He is sure to test our full backs.
