Doncaster have today confirmed the loan signing of Preston defender Andy Boyle on loan until the end of the season.
It seemed as though Walsall had become the only genuine interest following Wigan and Rotherham decision to not sign the Irish defender however Doncaster came in late to prize him away from the Saddlers
Boyle – capped against Iceland last March – has started just 10 league games for Preston since joining from Dundalk just over a year ago.
Boyle has played for Ireland at every level possible and started his career at UCD before moving onto Shelbourne.
Boyle was vice captain of Dundalk as they made the qualifying rounds of the Champions League last season.
Tomorrow will be a very interesting day for the Saddlers with many fans wanting at least four signings!
