In a week where football has taken a back seat, as more important things have been on our minds. Tomorrow see’s a return to football to the Banks’s stadium. The flags will still be at half mast and the cry is ‘For Anton’ in memory of the youngster.

Vital Quotes:

Whilst a lot of the talk has been about the passing of young Anton Reid, DD has issued the rallying cry lets put a performance in for Anton. Other members of the squad have spoken of how disturbed they have been by the incident earlier in the week as a number of first team squad took an active role in trying to help.
From Swansea ex saddler and now Swans boss Roberto Martinez has told the press…
‘If anyone is expecting an easy game they are making a big mistake,’

When we beat them at home they were coming off the back of a difficult game at the weekend.’

They didn’t have much time to recover and they probably found it difficult to perform on the pitch at the Liberty. They needed 50 or 60 minutes to cope with the tempo we imposed on the game.’

But it will be completely different at the Bescot.

They have experienced players who know how to put you under pressure, how to score goals and how to compete at home in particular.

It’s going to be a very difficult game.’

Walsall Team News:

Alan Picken is still amking progress but is still some way off a return. Otherwise the squad which has been cut to its bare bones so early in the season is getting back to how it should be. Rhys Weston should play although short of match fitness and Sonko and Butler will be under consideration although I doubt either could be considered fully fit.

Player to watch: Ishmel Demontagnac

The youngster came on saturday following his suspension, he caused the Orient defence problems but DD rightly so has challenged him to ensure that there is an end product. Home fans will be wanting him to start, but will the manager think the same.

Swansea Team News:

Roberto has praised returning skipper and defender Andy Monk, and the Swans are again approaching full strenght with Owain Tudor Jones and Dareen Way are noticable absentee. whilst Paul Tate will have a late test to prove his fitness.

Player to watch: Jason Scotland

The player who was offered to Walsall before he took up with Swansea will be a major threat. Walsall could not afford the striker, DD said that if we had signed him we would have been left with afive a side time…the budget would have gone. This shows the difference in the finaces of the two teams, we might be in the same division but in reality we are leaagues apart.

Match Prediction:

In a game where we would hope for a home win for Anton, the odds are staked against us even our own poll predicts an away win!!
Anything other than a Swans win would be a shock. They would have one point from three games that would not be good enough for the Welsh followers of Swansea.
Swans to win by two clear goals.
