Well, well. The ironic men of Cleethorpes come to town for an all important game for the Saddlers… and Grimsby of course. DD’s men have a game in hand and a chance to put ourselves on the way to increasing the lead at the top of L2 to seven points.

Vital Quotes:

DD: The main man at Bescot has given his reaction on the Saddler’s brief mid-season outing in the sun, as he told the official site that footy in the sun was ‘invaluable’ to the players. He also declared that a new season starts now.

The Buck: Walsall’s record signing at £175,000, or Grimsby manager Alan Buckley, is determined for his team to relief themselves over Walsall’s bonfire and place a dent in the Saddler’s promotion campaign.

Walsall Team News:

Par Cederqvist and Geordie Lyall are registered and fit to play, with Cederqvist being hailed as the new Jorge Leitao this week. Anthony Gerrard, Dean Keates, and Darren Wrack will also be available for selection after serious injuries. Danny Fox is the only absentee through one-match suspention.

Player to watch: Par Cederqvist

The Swede is to start, according to reports, so he will be one to watch. His pace, strength, and overall ability have left the Walsall players and staff alike gobsmacked.

Grimsby Team News:

Town have made previously on-loan midfielder Peter Till a permanent signing and the 26-year-old is likely to made his debut as a permanent signing on Monday. Also, on-loan MK Dons winger Nicky Rizzo is set to make his debut for the struggling Mariners. However, on-loan Stoke midfielder Anthony Pulis has returned to his parent club with a knee injury.

Player to watch: Isaiah Rankin

The former Brentford forward scores goals and he will be a threat come Monday night.
