Walsall’s Clayton Ince update

We have been following the big guys attempts to get his sizable hands on the golden glove award in recent weeks. The front runners for the league two award has constantly been the stoppers at Hartlepool and Bristol Rovers and our own Clayton Ince.

In the last month Walsall’s fortunes have taken an upward turn, but unfortunately from Claytons point of view the return of clean sheets hasn’t enabled him to close the gap, despite the clean sheet on Monday. So with four games to go Clayton lies in third spot three clean sheets behind the other two who are joint equal on 23.

Whilst nothing is over until the fat lady sings the task seems unlikely as you would expect Hartlepool or Bristol Rovers to keep at least one clean sheet between now and the end of the season. Four clean sheets from Walsall would be a nice way to end the season though.

Of course the golden boot award has never looked likely to be heading to Bescot. The award is been fought out between Izale Mcleod, Hartlepools Richie Baker, and Wycombes Jamie Easter.
