The express and star carried news of Alan Picken who has only played on the first day against Rochdale and part of the game against Macclesfield. The news is good, he seems to have responded well to the opperation and was looking to play the full 90 minutes in a friendly in the Grand Canaria training camp. He is not likely to play a part in the Grimsby game and will be given a number of reserve games first to build his match sharpness.

Darren Wrack has also progressed well as has Dean Keates. Both of these players hope to play some part in the friendly and be in consideration for the Grimsby game. Darren is of course eager to face his boy hood team.

Reports on other slight knocks are also promising, Clayton Ince has been carrying a slight knock and has benefited from the break. Also I have been told that Tommy Wright picked up a slight strain in the Notts County game and his enforced lay off is also allowing a full recovery.
