Tonights Express and Dingle, sorry Express and Star carrys an interview with walsall manager Dickie Dosh, as he issues the rallying cry of don’t panic…

Walsall manager Richard Money today hit back at the “negativity and cynicism” that he believes is threatening to undermine his team`s efforts on the field.

This is oh so true we can all moan about not signing such and such player but the one thing any club cannot buy is confidence and if the exsiting confidence is allowed to drain away we will struggle.

Money also launched an impassioned defence of his team and hit back at sections of the fans and media who he accused of ‘panicking`. I think any club will have a section of fans who see the cup as half empty rather than half full, however I do feel some section of the press have been looking for a story, and have increased the division between the manager and fans where in truth we both know we are on the same side.

“We don`t have the points total that we would like at this moment in time, but why on earth is everybody panicking?” said Money. That is quiet easy I feel the expectation level at the club is too great, the reason for this is two fold firstly some of the younger fans joined us in our championship days and view us as achampionship side where as history tells us we are not. Secondly this was compounded when we were relegated and Merson stated we would go straight back up of course we didn’t but some still believe we are too good to strugle in league one….wake up and smell the coffee, no team has a god given right to anything.

“We are three games into the season, for god`s sake. Calm down, give people a chance to settle in and play and show what they can do. Too true the likes of Sonko didn’t set the pulses racing but against Swansea he looked better, we know Carlos will be better than what he has shown so far, Rhys will be better with a few games under his belt etc etc etc.

“Football is full of negativity and cynicism these days. It`s unreal.
