Walsall’s pre season games

It will suprise no one that a couple of local rivals will be visiting Bescot and we will be going to a couple of local clubs whom we have had dealings with this season.

Pre-season dates have been announced for Aston Villa and Birmingham City. With both sides expected to bring a large following to Bescot, the Blues will be the first visitors on July 28th. Then on the Tuesday before the season starts Aston Villa will make their now annual pre-season visit.

Villa will visit with a new squad worth of stars ready to challenge at the right end of the table, so it could be more entertaining than watching them suffer the pain of the Ellis out campaign.

Other games we have arranged include visits to Kidderminster an chance to see former players Jonny Harkness and James Constable in action .While we have also agreed to travel to Burton Albion, of course Kris Taylor last season and Alex Nicholls this season have spent time on loan there. This is one game I am looking forward to since the new ground at Burton is virgin territory for me.

Although nothing has been confirmed it is expected that our usual trip to Halesowen will be on the cards, it will be nice to see ex Walsall legend Martin O’Connors team in action, or should I say Martin O’Connors unofficial Walsall reserves.
