The biggest news of this week has come from the headquarters of the Football League in the form of a discussion to scrap draws in favour of penalty shoot-outs. However, a lot of managers, and I mean a lot, including Arsene Wenger and Neil Warnock, have ridiculed the idea. The Football League chairman, Lord Mawhinney, has gone on record of saying that he fully expects the play-offs to be held at Wembley for the first time in since the year 2000. The League Two final is scheduled to take place on March 26, a week after the FA Cup final, which is to be played in the capital. A final decision will be made on the venue at the end of this month.
In other news, former Wolves skipper Paul Butler has left MK DONS by mutual consent. The 34-year-old has been commuting from his home in Leeds since he signed for the club in November.
BOSTON have added to their squad, bringing in Huddersfield`s 21-year-old defender John McCombe on a months loan. He has made 16 appearances for the Terriers this season and has been sent to Lincolnshire in a bid to gain more first team experience.
And finally, GRIMSBY striker Michael Reddy`s contract negotiations have stalled amidst fears over his long-term fitness. The 27-year-old former Sunderland man`s current deal expires in the summer.
