Tomorrows Sky Bet League 1 fixture between Barnsley and Walsall will be streamed live on ifollow to all UK and Ireland residents.
The Football League said at the start of the season that only midweek games would be streamed live however due to international weekend they will be streaming all League 1 and League 2 games via the clubs official channels.
Here is there official statement before the season…..
EFL Clubs will be able to live-stream in the UK and Ireland any league match via their respective iFollow (or equivalent) service that takes place outside the blocked hours of 14.45-17.15 on Saturday afternoons and that is not broadcast live on Sky Sports. Fixtures taking place on Bank Holidays or Easter will be unavailable for streaming. Sky Sports will have the right to stream the same Championship fixtures to subscribers across their interactive and digital services.
Whilst this is perfect for those that couldn’t get to the game tomorrow to watch the Saddlers it really does hit home that the buzz of live league action is slowly dwindling away – at what point will the EFL stream every league game to UK/Ireland residents?
