Walsall boss Jon Whitney has once again asked fans to save their personal feelings towards the manager until full time on Saturday and to stop booing his players.

Speaking to Express and Star Whitney said

“”I don`t think the fans, if they are honest, can fault their effort. If they have got anything personal against me then wait until the end of the game.

“I just want them to keep behind the players. That`s what they have done in the past. If you are patient you never know where it will take us. So at Doncaster, come and let`s be positive until the end.’

“If you want to make a statement against me – I`ve got no problem with that.’

“Just wait until the end of the game because these players are putting a shift in for this club and for these fans.’

Whitney feels that the negativity atmosphere is affecting his players and felt supporters were negative during our 1-1 draw with MK Dons on Tuesday night.

The Saddlers have failed to win in our last five games and won just four games in the last twenty four leading to moans and groans from the Saddlers faithful.

Open note to Jon Whitney ‘Now Jon I am fed up of these comments, the fans have not booed any players and have supported the team in the last two games, like they have every other game. The chants only came after your substitutions which were questionable along with the performances. As far as I’m aware the criticism towards your management has only been voiceferous at full time.’

If you can’t stand the heat…….
