Walsall boss Jon Whitney has today finally spoken out regarding transfers and insists the club are doing all they can to bolster their squad ahead of the transfer deadline on Wednesday.
Whitney has admitted he has missed on several targets but did stress there will be new faces before Wednesday with a permanent deal for one in the pipeline.
Speaking to the Express and Star, Whitney said
‘Ideally we`d like permanent signings. We have spent a little bit more time on one permanent addition in particular.
‘We could have brought loans in earlier but it would have been just to make up numbers.
‘We want to make sure they are right for the group and we have got some longevity with them as well’
Whitney confirmed he is looking at loan signings which could possibly be made permanent in the summer.
