Walsall manager Jon Whitney has been speaking to
BBC WMafter today’s victory over Peterborough United.

‘It was an entertaining game at 0-0 up until the goals and it was very end to end with the team who kept their discipline coming out on top. At the start of the second half they were on top, but I thought in general we just about shaded it.

‘The effort this week have been really good with four points from Scunthorpe away on Tuesday and then today’s victory is a really good return.

The Saddlers won their fourth consecutive home game, after wins against Sheffield United, Bristol Rovers and Northampton Town, and are now only four points off the League One play off places.

Walsall’s next game comes against AFC Wimbledon, where a positive result could see the Saddlers’ unlikely playoff push continue.
