Walsall under fire manager Jon Whitney today branded last nights 4-0 defeat against Rochdale as an embarrassment and admitted he will not give any excuses as it just wasn’t good enough.
Whitney who has now come under severe pressure by the Walsall faithful on Facebook and Twitter, told the Express and Star,
“It was an embarrassment,” said. “I can`t make any excuses for that performance. We were comprehensively beaten by a better team.’
“I need to decipher it and try and work out reasons why. I keep saying to players you need to play for your shirt because there are players on the bench and players at home who would love to play.’
“It was too easy for Rochdale to implement their game plan. We didn’t lay a glove on them and I never saw that coming from my team.’
“There are no excuses from me. It was simply not good enough.”.
“It`s time to look within. I will do that personally. I will ask my players to do the same.”
