Walsall boss Jon Whitney has today confirmed that both James O’Connor and Isaiah Osbourne have trained with the club this week but will use his sports science head to deem whether they are fit to play against Bolton tomorrow.

Speaking to Express and Star, Whitney said

“Both Jim and Ozzy (Osbourne) trained yesterday which is good news,” Whitney said. “But they have been out for a month so I have to use my sports science head and determine when they are ready to come back into the squad.

“That is what I will doing now but I do think we need a bit more experience. Of course I want to blood youngsters but there are times you need more experience on the pitch. I think this is a time for that now.”

Whitney also confirmed that Makris left the field with a virus during our draw with Bristol Rovers and is hopeful he will be available for selection.
