Why Was Luke Leahy’s Goal Disallowed?

|

The Saddlers made it four wins out of six on the road after a last minute winner against Bristol Rovers.

Kieron Morris ninety-third minute winner fired the Saddlers back up to fifth in the League 1 table following two disappointing home results.

The Saddlers should have been ahead after the eight minutes as Luke Leahy’s goal was wrongly disallowed. The linesman didn’t flag for a foul or offside however referee Lee Swabey saw something no one else did.

Morgan Ferrier also had a great chances firing straight down the keepers throat when he was one on one and Andy Cook had a ferocious volley well saved by the Bristol Rovers keeper.

The Saddlers had eleven shots on target on Saturday – more than any other team in England but were left frustrated again and many felt it was ending 0-0 until Morris latched onto a pass and fired past the keeper.

The full time whistle brought out jubilant scenes from the fans and the players.
