The ghost of the first team visited the youth team last night as they failed to beat Grimsby town at Bescot.

In a game which the saddlers created numerous chances, which unfortunatly we missed, we went down to a single goal against the run of play. Ishmel Demontagnac caused the visitors plenty of problems with his pace, In fact he was pulled back as he was breaking through resulting in Grimsby been reduced to ten men. But still a goal wouldn’t come. The final whistle brought joy for the travelling Grimsby fans. The Walsall players just collapsed to their knees, again the shadow of saturday hung over Bescot.

But credit where credit is due we have a good bunch of young players. Who have done well to reach the final, especially considering the fact that mentor Mick Halsall has been more involved in the first team. Well done lads.
