Following a MRI scan Walsall midfielder Flo Cuveliers injury is not as bad as first thought.

The MRI scan today revealed Flo will not require surgical treatment on his knee and will start his recovery immediately.

On Saturday, Cuvelier made his first start for months following another injury lay off and put in a good display before a horror tackle saw his return ended.

Speaking to Express and Star, Whitney said

“He`s had an MRI scan and there is no significant damage. It is definitely not surgical. He has some bone bruising and fluid in the joint which has settled down now.

“It is nothing too long-term. I spoke to Flo and we are quite happy. We are happy it was not another sucker punch. It is simply the effects of the kick he got in the game.”

Joe Edwards looks likely to return to the side for our trip to Rochdale on Saturday.
